Prayer & Fasting Guidelines
As we embark on this 21-day journey of prayer and fasting together as a church, it’s important for us to understand that we’re not fasting in order to change God’s mind but rather to make ourselves more aware of His presence and the sufficiency of His grace. God loves us and loves to answer our prayers.
In order to help you with your time of prayer and fasting, we have put together a few guidelines that will give you an idea of what you can eat and what you can pray for. Please feel free to adapt these for you and your family however.

PRAY FOR THE FOLLOWING:
Firstly, Praise God for who He is, His love and grace in every situation. Then pray for our nation, our city and our communities.
For the salvation of those in power that they may seek the guidance of the Holy Spirit in their leadership. Pray for your family, your spouse, children, siblings, extended family. For their salvation, saftey, provison, healing or any other needs they may have. Pray for Anchor Church, our pastor and leaders, and fellow church members. For Divine guidance, provision and protection and for more lives to be changed in 2018. Pray for God to provide us with our own property and building. Pray for your employer and co-workers, your employees, teachers or professors. Pray for your close friends, especially those that don’t know Jesus and for any needs they may have. Pray for yourself, your relationships, your health, your future. Pray for an increased revelation of the gospel and a closer walk with Jesus. Pray for God’s guidance in every situation and receive by faith every blessing that He has for your life.
PRAY FOR THOSE WHO NEED GOD
1. PRAY THAT THE FATHER WOULD DRAW THEM TO JESUS. No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him (John 6:44).
2. PRAY THEY COME TO SEE THE GRACE OF GOD. The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God (2 Corinthians 4:4).
3. PRAY THEY COME TO KNOW THE FATHER. For you did not receive a spirit that makes you a slave again to fear, but you received the Spirit of sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father” (Romans 8:15).
4. PRAY THAT OTHER BELIEVERS WILL CROSS THEIR PATHS AND ENTER INTO POSITIVE RELATIONSHIPS WITH THEM. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field (Matt 9:38)
Let’s pray and trust God boldly for 2019!
